Rye

This delightful walking holiday starts in the same way as the Castles and Gardens walk, taking in the same splendid moated castles, and some of the beautiful gardens, but it is a linear walk taking you all the way from the heart of the High Weald to the coastal town of Rye. Taking a lesser known route, away from roads it includes some beautiful woodland, rich in wild flowers, before descending to a river area with a magnificent vista of the medieval town beyond.

The starting point is accesible by train from London in an hour, so if coming from there it is possible to walk the first leg the same day. One night's accommodation at the end of the tour is included in Rye, from which it is possible to return to London by train in less than two hours. It is possible to spend another day and night on the way if you would like a leisurely second day.
